Data base date: May 6, 2026

The April consumer price index in the Gangwon region rose 2.9% compared to the same month last year. According to the National Data Agency's Northeast Regional Data Office, products rose 3.3% and services rose 2.5%, respectively.

The increase in the living price index, which is close to daily spending, was 3.2%, exceeding the overall consumer price increase rate. The fresh food index fell 4.2% compared to the same month last year, but it can be seen that the rise in prices of other products and services has increased the perceived burden.

When judging the price trend, it is necessary to distinguish living prices, fresh food, and service prices along with the overall index. Regional indicators show differences in household burden that are not apparent in the national average.
