Artistic Director Chae Kyung-sun ⓒ Netflix

“I started with the goal of innovative visuals over Season 1, but I ended up focusing on the scenario. As the design became excessive, I returned to the point of origin. I decided to keep my green gym uniform.” (Artistic Director Chae Kyung-sun)

“In line with the dramatic development of the story, the music also strengthened my emotions. I worked so that I could feel the emotion.” (Jaeil Jeong, Music Director)

Kim joined this season and focused on the message of Season 2. Revealing that he is a Season 1 fan, he emphasized the new message.

“Inspired by the ‘O, X’ scene, I tried to blur the line between the game and reality through color contrast. I wanted to convey the message.”

The new game ‘Round and Round‘ in Season 2 attracted viewers with its visuals and content. The directors reconciled the fairytale atmosphere with the cruel choices.

“The ‘Round and Round’ set was popular with actors and everyone, with a lot of lighting on a 500-square-foot area to create a sense of fantasy.” (Artistic Director Chae Kyung-sun)

“The camera was close to the participant and wanted the viewer to feel as an experience. ‘Round and round’ required an omniscient point of view.” (Director of Photography, Kim Ji-yong)

Chae participated with great anticipation in Season 2 after winning an Emmy for Season 1. He expressed a strong love for the work, thanking the staff for their increasing awareness.

“Season 1 was exciting, and season 2 was burdensome. I am grateful for the work that has given me many opportunities and I am honored by the attention of the world. I want you to be more immersed in the theme of Squid Game.”

A powerful story awaits in Season 3. Jung conveyed his warmth in despair and was confident that all his questions would be solved in Season 3.

“Humanism in tragedy touches me with strong contrasts. You can feel the director's intentions in Season 3.”
