Choosing the metal genre is a challenge for YB band to embrace change. This served as an opportunity to expand the scope of the genre and make the YB members' long-cherished dream of metal come true. Bassist Park Tae-hee mentioned that the members were able to realize "dream music" together thanks to Yoon Do-hyun's sincere suggestion.
The six songs, including the album's theme song 'Orchid', contain a strong sound and message that is differentiated from YB's existing music. 'Odyssey' contains the journey of the protagonist who lost his identity and fell into confusion amid external oppression and internal agony. Despite the pain, this protagonist gradually discovers inner strength and hope, recovers his self, and achieves freedom by crossing reality and fantasy.
YB achieved his dream while also realizing another goal through collaboration with junior musicians. The album was created as a result of collaboration with young metal guitarists and arrangers during the album production process. Yoon Do-hyun said that the album was completed thanks to their contributions.
Park Tae-hee gratefully accepted the help of junior bands active in the metal genre and highly valued the opportunity to produce music with them.
This album's pre-released song and double title song, ‘Rebellion’ was created through collaboration with junior band Xdinary Heroes. The meeting between YB and Xdinary Heroes is evaluated as an example of true musical exchange and mentoring beyond simple participation. Through this, YB is presenting a new direction for intergenerational integration of the K band scene.
YB's metal album ‘Odyssey’ shows their musical passion and challenge while also containing efforts to achieve harmony between generations through collaboration with juniors. YB has maintained the team for a long time and has established himself as a role model among junior bands, and is also receiving positive reviews from senior singers.
Jaebeom Lim, who turned solo after being in a rock band, highly praised Dohyun Yoon's musical passion and praised his continued activities. Kim Jong-seo evaluated YB's long history as the best and was proud of their achievements.
